Movement is Medicine 2022 Edition

Here we are again in January writing about the benefits of movement (still) in the midst of a pandemic.  We promise to bring you better blog content in 2022 (we were a little distracted in 2021), but we’ll use January to circle back to what we do best.

At CoreWorks, our business model is based on getting people back to feeling their best so they can tackle their fitness goals or simply live a pain free life doing all the things they love. But through the course of this pandemic we have learned first hand  just how important our services are.  While our clientele has always included people with chronic and acute pain as well as fitness clients,  we have seen an influx of people needing our help because their intermittent issues have gotten worse with the lack of movement that has been a side effect of this pandemic.

With the prospect of working exclusively from home becoming a reality again, now more than ever is the time to move! Get out for a winter walk, do a YouTube fitness class (there are so many and they are free, if you don’t mind the ads), or come in to our studio and join one of our in-person Pilates classes. If you’re more comfortable at home, join one of our virtual group or private classes. But try to do something every day, or even better multiple times a day. It doesn’t matter if it’s for an hour or 10 minutes; getting your heart rate up has a plethora of mental and physical health benefits such as reducing stress, lowering blood pressure and reducing inflammation.

To address the evolving situation, we have added virtual mat classes back to our schedule in January. Starting January 5th, check our free 30 min Wednesday morning community class at 8:45 am.  We also have 40 minute classes with Christina and Heather on Fridays and Mondays at 8:45. Go to our booking page for pricing and to register for the zoom link.

Now is a good time to set the intention to keep moving this January because it’s good for your mental and physical health. We promise you won’t regret it!
